Poem of the Week By: Michelle Perez

The stereotypes don’t define me Their opinions can’t define me Their words can’t confine me
I must search until I find me
So many problems with society The vision has come and now i see

That no matter what happens in life
I can never peek
This eternal game of hide and seek
But i am always seeking
Always thinking, too much speaking
My brain’s thoughts start leaking
I don’t know what to do maybe the solution is you
Or others
But one thing i know is i must be successful for my mothers and my brothers
I need to do what i must
And yet you are the only one i trust
The pressure is unbearable i might just bust
